Cathy van Ee is an artist and tutor specializing in portraiture and landscape in oil and pastel medium. Her career in the arts has included working in the corporate sector in magazine and book illustration, book design, stamp design and gallery management. She has qualified with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swinburne University and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from Chisholm Institute. She has participated in numerous fine art workshops with many of the finest artists in Australia and, more recently, studied overseas with David Leffel at the Scottsdale Artists’ School in Arizona. From her early fine art career, Cathy’s style has evolved into high-quality realism, particularly in oil portraiture. For over 30 years, she has undertaken numerous commissions, to portray Company Directors, CEOs, School Principals, prominent public figures within the sporting and art worlds, along with private individuals. Her work is displayed privately and in galleries in Australia and overseas. In recent years, Cathy has focused on exhibiting her work and regularly receives awards for her highly-acclaimed landscapes and portraits. As well as exhibiting, she loves sharing her knowledge and skills with others to help them become more proficient artists. Her reputation for excellence in her work and teaching practice is well known and respected, offering knowledge from her highly eclectic skills in the arts with academic and technical training in classes and workshops across art societies and galleries throughout Melbourne, its suburbs and the Mornington Peninsula. Cathy’s work is exhibited at Original OZ Art Gallery.
