Tamara was born in Melbourne in 1953 and studied Fine Arts at RMIT and after moving to Sydney continued studying under renowned artist Richard Zaloudek, while working with him as a cell painter and background artist for Hanna Barbara Studios. After a prolonged absence, homesickness finally kicked in and she returned to Melbourne where the opportunity arose to teach music, and as this was another passion, she thought this would be more practical with 3 small children to look after. Twenty years later and after a successful career as a classical and jazz piano teacher, her love of painting once again became an integral part of her life, beginning several years as a commercial and graphic artist and illustrator. Since moving to the Mornington Peninsula 5 years ago, she has been totally inspired by the beauty and the colour of this magnificent area, as well as the tranquility and the calm of the sea. She believes that colour has an effect on the physiology of our make-up and so uses bright colours to create a fun loving mood, she also has a deep passion for elegance and simplicity that is steering her away from traditionalist painting and leaning more towards the contemporary where imagination can roam free.
The Original Oz Art Gallery is proud to represent this artist.
